Everyone is Welcome at Castle Street Church regardless of physical/mental ability and we are happy to accommodate any feasible request in order to make you comfortable.
Castle Street Church is split into an Upper Chapel and a Downstairs Meeting Room where we currently hold the majority of our Services, Meetings and Events. The Upper Chapel is used during special occasions like Easter, Christmas, Celebrations and Seasonal Events.
Parking
We have ample parking right outside the Chapel including several extra-wide Disabled Spaces for Blue Badge holders. There are located at the top of the car park towards the front of the Upper Chapel. Be sure to turn right when entering the car park to access these spaces and try to get here early to secure your space, these spaces tend to fill up faster than the rest of the car park.
Wheelchair Accessibility
Both the Upper and Lower parts of the Chapel are fully Wheelchair Accessible from the outside of the building for Standard Self-Propelling Wheelchairs. There is an internal staircase to take those who might struggle with the walk around the outside from the Upper to the Lower level where Refreshments are usually served following Services upstairs in the Chapel.
A standby Wheelchair is also available for anyone who might require assistance with walking or navigating stairs and a Member of the Chapel would be happy to help you get around.
Toilet Facilities
We have a fully adapted Disabled Toilet with Baby Changing Facilities on the lower level of the Chapel, next to the Kitchen and the Downstairs Meeting Room. The Toilet is a standard height, surrounded by several grab rails and a toileting arm. There is a red-cord alarm at floor-level and should anyone get into difficulty, help will come immediately and be delivered as discreetly as possible when required.
Hearing Assistance
We have a Induction (Hearing) Loop System inside the Chapel for your comfort – please switch your Hearing Aid to the ‘T’ position to access this service.
